A conference call is a group voice- or video- chat between a host and a large group of distributors. Conference calls are set up so the important speakers are audible to all participants, but usually the bulk of participants will not be audible to the speakers to prevent disruption and chaos. The majority of network marketing corporations will regularly organize conference calls with their distributors. The purpose is generally training, education, status reports, or general information. A conference call requires specific software: Skype, GoToMeeting, and FreeConferenceCall are common examples of software used for the purpose.
